Why we should focus on teenage girls:

  • There’s a higher dropout rate of sport and physical activity in young women than young men.
  • Keeping girls physically active improves confidence, psychological resilience, and academic and professional success later in life.
  • Watch this 10-minute video to learn more.

By the end of this course you will:

  • Have a starting point for more comfortable conversations with your daughters (I’m talking to you, dads!) about sensitive topics like physical and psychological changes, sociocultural influences, and menstrual cycles.
  • Open up dialogue around girls and women in sport, and the unique challenges they face physically and societally (can we talk about appropriate girls’ uniforms?) in contrast with their male peers.
  • Shed light on the language that is used (often casually and subconsciously) in sports that lifts up and encourages boys while holding back and discouraging active girls.
  • Empower you with the knowledge (and confidence) to create momentum for change in this space so we can normalize girls being active and strong.
  • Be able to track how you feel as an active teenage girl physically and mentally, and how to navigate body and menstrual changes now and in the future.

It’s time to take action!

What our audience has to say about this much-needed course topic:

“Can we please talk about not making girls sports uniforms, pants, skirts, leotards etc white. Girls getting used to their new body rhythms have the additional factor of trying to predict if their period is going to hit while they are training or playing, and if it does, that can be mortifying for those wearing white. If we can change the colour of teenage girls uniforms we can at least remove that barrier to participating in sport 🙏

“Love this. I also believe parents need to be educated that osteoporosis is a childhood disease that requires jumping , lifting, stressing bones and appropriate protein and minerals to prevent it later in life. Women disproportionately have this disease and it stems from not enough sport or exercise participation during critical years of bone development.”

“I won’t let my clients do ‘girl push ups’… we do PUSH UPS … like normal people 😍

“One comment I received and will never forget is ‘just sit there and look pretty’ from an older female relative. This wasn’t even in regard to physical activity but commenting on a play during a baseball game 🙄
